Choose an Instrument for the Miss You Have

Compare Precision, Harmony, Tension, Luck, Tune Speed, and Resonance on the card in front of you, then equip the purchase from the bag.

Six stats, six jobs

Stat What it is for
Precision Wider catch zone
Harmony The zone moves less often
Tension The creature follows your marker more closely
Tune Speed Shorter frequency setup
Resonance How high a frequency you can reach
Luck Rare attraction, not a catch-rate formula

A card's question-mark page repeats the stats and can also show total catches and time played on that instrument.

The four cards that agree

These spreads match the launch shop cards and the Equipment Bag. Tune Speed is omitted where the card did not print one.

Instrument Price Precision Harmony Tension Luck Tune Speed Resonance
Wooden Lute Free +2% 0 0 0% I
Tamer's Guitar 100 +6% +5 +20 +5% I on the launch tables
Adventurer's Tambourine 750 +5% +8 +30 +8% +15% II
Violin of Pilgrimage 4,500 +4% +10 +30 +40% +5% II

One Grove card list prints the guitar at Resonance II instead of I. Do not average those into a new number. Read the card you are buying.

The same card list also prints Prospector's Lute at 5,000 Chimes (Precision +8%, Harmony +12, Tension +50, Luck +15%, Tune Speed +5%, Resonance IV) and Blackwood Fiddle at 9,500 (Precision +14%, Harmony +20, Tension +70, Luck +15%, Tune Speed +5%, Resonance IV). The three-item stall walkthrough does not put those two on Jane's counter. Pay only a price you can see.

Pre-launch clips that priced the guitar at 200 and the violin at 2,000, or that gave the violin Resonance III and a 400 Hz cap, do not match the launch cards above.

How to choose

  • You cannot catch at all yet: use the lute.
  • The tutorial is asking for the guitar: buy it, equip it, and close the bag.
  • Tuning is the slow part: the tambourine's +15% Tune Speed is the documented early answer, at 750 Chimes.
  • You lose the creature after the bar appears: compare Precision, Harmony, and Tension. The tambourine leads the guitar on Harmony and Tension. The violin leads Harmony and Luck, and ties the tambourine on Tension.
  • You want rare attraction and can pay 4,500: the violin's +40% Luck is the standout number among these four. Resonance II does not, by itself, beat another Resonance II tool on reach.
  • The Ocarina is not in this table. It plays songs. It does not replace a catching instrument.

Equip it

Buy from the prompt that names the instrument and the price. Then Equipment Bag, Instruments, Equip, close the bag. If the tutorial still says equip, press Equip again instead of grinding more Chimes.

Later tools with a documented route: Deepchord for 16,000 after Answer the Machine, used when you want a chance at the Runic prefix; Forest Spirit's Lyre after Fenna's 5,000-Chime offering; Archmage's Requiem after you return the piano to Iblis. The 32,000 figure is the recorded Deep Halls entry, not the instrument's shop price.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there SCROOMS codes?

No redeemable code string is documented, and launch guides do not show a redemption button. Catch, sell, and finish quests for Chimes. If a later creator post gives an exact string and the game shows a place to enter it, use that string only.

Who sells the Tamer's Guitar, Julian or Jane?

The opening tutorial uses Julian at a wooden stall for the sale and a 100-Chime guitar. A stall walkthrough names Jane, by a treble-clef sign near the red houses, as the seller of that guitar, the Adventurer's Tambourine, and the Violin of Pilgrimage. Follow the name printed on the prompt in your session.

What notes play Homeward Melody?

On the Ocarina, play Left, Down, Up, Left. The song returns you to the spawn you have set. That is not always the original Grove spawn.

Does Luck show my chance to catch a rare Scroom?

No. Luck is described as rare attraction. A printed +5% or +40% is an equipment value, not a measured chance for a named species.

Is The Undergarden already a released area?

The experience listing names The Undergarden Beneath the Grove for October 24, 2026, with a notify action. That is an announced event. It is not a released patch walkthrough.
