What the letters mean

S is the violin when you can pay 4,500 and want its Luck and Harmony. A is the tambourine, the best documented early answer to slow tuning. B is the tutorial guitar. C is the free lute, which you still need in order to start. Resonance II on both the tambourine and the violin is not treated as a reach win for the violin. A separate card list that adds Resonance IV tools is kept off this board because those items were not on the three-item stall.

S tier

grove-catchingViolin of PilgrimageLaunch card: 4,500 Chimes, Precision +4%, Harmony +10, Tension +30, Luck +40%, Tune Speed +5%, Resonance II. Editorial pick when the price is affordable and you want the highest Luck in the agreed set of four.

Player decision Buy it after you can already finish ordinary catches and you are hunting rarer encounters. It does not out-reach the tambourine on the printed Resonance line, since both say II.

A tier

grove-catchingAdventurer's TambourineLaunch card: 750 Chimes, Precision +5%, Harmony +8, Tension +30, Luck +8%, Tune Speed +15%, Resonance II. The Tune Speed lead is the reason it sits above the guitar.

Player decision Choose it when frequency matching is the slow part, or when 4,500 is still out of reach. Faster tuning does not keep a creature in the zone by itself.

B tier

grove-catchingTamer's GuitarTutorial upgrade at 100 Chimes. Launch tables: Precision +6%, Harmony +5, Tension +20, Luck +5%, Resonance I. Another card list prints Resonance II. Both agree it beats the lute on Precision and Luck.

Player decision Buy and equip it when the opening quest asks. Do not skip the Equip button. Do not treat it as a tool that reaches every later frequency.

C tier

grove-catchingWooden LuteLeo's free starter. Launch card: Precision +2%, Harmony 0, Tension 0, Luck 0%, Resonance I. The low grade means limited stats, not that you should skip it.

Player decision Use it for the first catch and for learning the drag. Replace it when you can equip the guitar.

SCROOMS 🍄 ranking questions

Why is the violin not ranked by a higher Resonance?

On the launch cards, the violin and the tambourine are both Resonance II. The violin is first because of +40% Luck and +10 Harmony, at a much higher price.
