Keyboard and mouse
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| E | Talk, when the prompt says E Talk. Also Pay Respects at a Grove statue |
| G | Open the backpack |
| Left click | Start tuning when the prompt asks |
| Hold left click and move | Match frequency, and later drag the creature in the catch zone |
| Hotbar slot 5 | Ocarina, after Halden's reward |
| W, then Space at the ledge | The documented PC run-up for the Bluestone Approach gap, with Songtreads active |
The hotbar holds your catching instrument, the Equipment Bag, the Index, and the Quest Log. The Index is slot 3. The Ocarina is a fifth slot after you unlock it. Opening the Index does not equip gear.
Mobile
Prompts change their wording. The backpack line becomes Tap to open backpack! Tap the instrument to play, tap to bring up the tuning gauge, and hold-and-move a finger for the frequency phase and the catch drag. Use the jump and move buttons at the cavern gap. A tested mobile timing chart for that jump is not documented; use the running jump and confirm the boots are still glowing.
Do not mix the menus
- Instrument: start a catch.
- Equipment Bag, Instruments tab: equip a catching tool you already own, then close the bag.
- Equipment Bag, Core: Songtreads live here. Selecting the boot tile should put a glow and notes at your feet. The Owned card only proves you have them.
- Index: collection cards, rarity, and frequency.
- Quest Log: the objective you still owe.
If a dialogue will not take clicks and the screen says camera control is on, right-click once to free the mouse, then choose the reply.
Ocarina songs use the song buttons, not the catch slider. Homeward Melody is Left, Down, Up, Left. Song of Passage, after you learn it, is documented as F, S, A, W, F on the labelled inputs. If the menu shows a different sequence, play the one on screen.
